Job Summary
We are seeking a Commercial/BD Specialist to join the Strategy, BD & Market Impact Division of the LTC Business & Project Development Department. The Strategy, BD & Market Impact Division is responsible for four main areas: Strategy & Business Development, Market Intelligence, Economic & Financial analysis, and general program support. The Commercial/BD Specialist's primary role is to bring insights into various Oil-Gas/Petchem markets and sectors, to uncover and develop business opportunities that would lead to several transaction types, namely, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships, divestitures, and/or third-party outsourcing projects. This role helps in sourcing, screening, analyzing, planning, and developing new business ventures or a portfolio of ventures; provides high-level professional expertise in the development and management of new business ventures; assists the Department in leading business portfolios and managing the development of commercial agreements; provides administrative direction to analysts in reviewing legal documents; and supports projects in managing negotiation strategy and execution.
Responsibilities:
- Possess strong commercial acumen and adaptability to navigate in a changing business landscape.
- Assess and recommend commercialization roadmaps for graduated projects.
- Generate new business ideas and evaluate their feasibility.
- Screen independent business proposals using strategic and technical criteria to prioritize opportunities aligned with the LTC strategy.
- Provide functional expertise to evaluate capabilities and risks of proposed ventures.
- Lead and/or support negotiations of agreements with external parties.
- Mentor, train, and develop young professionals in the field.
- Have a proactive mindset and the ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
Requirements:
- This role requires the candidate to permanently relocate to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a closely related specialty. An MBA or relevant advanced degree is highly preferred.
- Possess at least 15 years of professional experience in business development.
- Demonstrate a strong track record in conducting economic and commercial evaluations for major chemicals and refining projects.
- Have a deep understanding of associated operations and the integration of assets within the industry.
- Possess expertise or knowledge in conducting techno-economic feasibility studies.
- Have knowledge and experience in venturing activities such as commercialization, spin-offs, or joint venturing.
- Familiarity with project development processes and methodologies.
