Position Overview:

As a Principal Product Designer, you are a 360-experiential designer, who is on the pulse of the latest in art and culture. You think about your designs from a multitude of angles and have a firm understanding of how people are interacting with the creativity you put out in the world.

The Principal Designer is responsible for supporting the Product Managers and Designers in developing our overall Design strategy and output. This role will have 3-5 direct reports (Designers) and will require a level of mentorship and leadership that will continue to enhance their colleagues' skill sets and level up their work for our client base. All applicants must submit a portfolio for consideration.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize, develop, and produce world-class creative from inception to execution
  • Develop and execute design work across all touchpoints (social, digital, packaging, campaign etc.)
  • Understand Product initiatives, strategic positioning, and target audience
  • Partner with the rest of the creative team - including copywriters, art directors, strategists, community managers - across different types of media
  • Ensure consistency in branding, visual language, and overall aesthetics for each client and campaign
  • Build Design principles across our Product portfolio
  • Lead creative presentations of approved work to clients/ team members when required.
  • Stay on top of all trends, competitive work, and maintain best practices
  • Support the evolution of our always-on content in new and fresh ways

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 8+ years of Design leadership experience in a fast-paced environment making platform or social content
  • Experience in brand-building initiatives, creating engaging social experiences
  • Examples of digital-first thinking
  • Self-starter and problem solver
  • Ability to manage and work on multiple projects at the same time and with tight deadlines
  • Proficient use of Figma, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other visual design and wire-framing tools
  • Ability to listen and interpret feedback and come up with creative solutions
  • Experience with clients across multiple industries is an asset.
