The Opportunity:

We are recruiting for a NURSE CLINICIAN RN (Float for Adult Services)

This is a regular full-time float role (35 hours per week Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with flexibility to meet service needs). This role is based out of 80 Waterloo Ave. Guelph with travel throughout Waterloo and Wellington to support Adult Intensive Service Programs as needed.

Reporting to the Manager, Adult Intensive Services, this position will provide psychiatric nursing care, mental health assessment, consultation, and intervention services for adults. There will also be an emphasis on education regarding mental health, overall physical health and wellness. This position will provide nursing care to Rural Wellington adult clients for approximately 2 days per week and the remainder of the week will float to other sites supporting Adult Intensive Service Programs (eg. FACT, First Step, Adult Psychiatry) as needed.

Qualifications:

Degree/Diploma from an approved Registered Nursing Program
Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and eligibility to practice as a Registered Nurse in Ontario
3 to 5 years of related experience in providing community-based mental health services
Thorough knowledge of psychiatric nursing and medications
Well-developed assessment and intervention skills
Good organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to social and cultural diversity
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, outreach settings and multi-disciplinary teamwork
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook and various database software
A valid driver’s license, vehicle and insurance, as travel is required
