Job Opening: Health and Safety Coordinator

EBC is actively seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator for our operations at the John Hart Dam Project in Campbell River, British Columbia. The successful candidate must live in or be willing to relocate to the region. This is not a fly in/fly out opportunity.

Responsibilities Include:
  1. Manage the Health, Safety and Environmental program for the Peach River business unit encompassing a large geographical area.
  2. Liaise with all HSE Advisor to provide guidance in accordance with our OHSMS as well as COR requirements.
  3. Conduct site inspections to verify compliance, identify hazards, and suggest controls.
  4. Control Health and Safety related documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
  5. Assist in accident investigations and adhere to Event Management Protocols.
  6. Evaluate risk analysis tools and recommend accident prevention measures.
  7. Develop project emergency response plans and participate in official inquiries.
  8. Counsel management and workers on safety requirements and procedures.
  9. Maintain safety databases, track statistics, and assist with COR auditing.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a College or University program related to Safety practices in Construction.
  • Minimum 5 years in a health and safety role within the heavy civil construction industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in computer-related business tools and file management.
  • Health and safety certifications and ability to work independently and within teams.
