Job Description

Join a team of strategists and creatives with an unparalleled passion for all things content and social. You will help shape our clients’ brand narratives and drive online conversation through captivating content strategies.

With a keen eye for storytelling, deep understanding of audience behaviours and key social media channels, and the ability to discover, interpret, and translate data into actionable consumer insights, you will build foundational playbooks, overarching content strategies, and brand persona architecture; write compelling, inspiring content briefs; and collaborate directly with creatives on content development.

You’ll do it all while leading a team of strategists and offering thought leadership across team strategy, reporting, execution, community management, and social listening. You’re a social-savvy team player who can work independently and/or collaboratively in a fast-paced hybrid environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Content Strategy Development: Develop comprehensive foundational content strategies that align with brand objectives and resonate with target audiences.
  • Audience Research: Conduct in-depth research into audience demographics, behaviours, and preferences, leveraging these insights to inform content strategies and messaging.
  • Content Briefs: Develop high-quality, insight-led content briefs that ensure consistency in tone and messaging and inspire creative teammates.
  • Content Optimization and Analysis: Utilize data-driven insights, analytics, and consumer research to optimize content performance.
  • Innovation and Trend Monitoring: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in content marketing and storytelling.
  • Competitive Review: Monitor and evaluate client competitors to help them understand the landscape and develop key learnings.
  • Community Development: Lead the organic development and growth of various communities and social media activities across the client’s social ecosystem.
  • Define KPIs: Help establish benchmarks and metrics to evaluate and increase the clients’ social media presence and goals.
  • Inspire: Lead and inspire a team while creating a positive work environment.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with integrated agency teams to ensure content strategies align with overall business goals and initiatives.

You will:

  • Maintain consistency across client executions: goals, guidelines, brand voice and learnings & optimizations.
  • Ensure 100% of deadlines are met.
  • Weekly updates for clients on the state of their social landscape.
  • Provide clients with a proactive point of view on platform updates and/or trends.
  • Support ICUC by developing at least one internal deliverable per quarter (whitepapers, ASAPs, POVs).
  • Support team morale to ensure turnover is below 10% year over year.
  • Help deliver on content community growth and engagement.
Qualifications
  • 7 years of social media management and reporting experience.
  • Proven work experience as a Content Strategist.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading people.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, PR, or equivalent.
  • Strong proficiency in analyzing social media metrics and translating data into actionable insights.
  • Deep understanding of cultural nuances and the ability to create and adapt social media content.
  • Resourcefulness and a can-do attitude, thriving in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong sense of account ownership and pride in work.
  • Good sense of decorum and brand appropriateness.
  • Friendly, diplomatic, and composed self-starter.
  • Charisma and willingness to mentor others.
  • Cooperative and network-oriented.
  • Proven history of developing new, sustainable processes.
  • Ability to identify target audience preferences.
  • Knowledge of past and current social media trends.
  • Regular user of X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Proficiency in reporting systems like Talkwalker, Brandwatch, Fanpage Karma, and Meltwater.
  • Understanding of SEO strategies and digital marketing metrics.
  • Proficient computer literacy.
Additional Information

The salary range for this position is $70k-$85k. Actual salary within the salary range will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, and skills. A range of medical, dental, RRSP, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available to all permanent employees.
