Job Summary

The Fleet Asset Analyst is responsible for optimizing the assignment and utilization of fleet assets, including rolling equipment such as trailers, containers, chassis, tractors, and straight trucks. This role requires advanced Excel skills to analyze data, generate reports, and make data-driven decisions to ensure efficient fleet operations and maximum asset utilization.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Trailers, Containers, Chassis:

  1. Generate and analyze dwell reports twice weekly to monitor and optimize equipment status.
  2. Ensure accurate capture and billing of trailer detention fees.
  3. Track and analyze equipment dwell metrics at terminals and address any issues.
  4. Collaborate with terminals to manage and adjust bank sizes as necessary.
  5. Monitor rental equipment usage and ensure timely returns when no longer needed.
  6. Update the trailer tracking portal (TGI) with relevant landmarks or customer locations.

Tractors, Straight Trucks

  1. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date list of power unit assignments.
  2. Ensure fleet codes in Truckmate are current with unit reassignments.
  3. Prepare and analyze the weekly STracs report; coordinate with terminals and fleet owners to resolve discrepancies.
  4. Monitor and analyze mileage and usage time on units to ensure optimal performance.
  5. Collaborate with terminals and fleet owners to optimize equipment utilization and reallocate units as necessary.

Reporting And Communication

  1. Develop and maintain detailed reports on asset utilization for terminal and executive review, utilizing advanced Excel functions.
  2. Collaborate with senior leadership on strategies for equipment acquisition.
  3. Prepare and present metrics on key measurable data.
  4. Distribute weekly terminal scorecards based on Ops call metrics.
  5. Participate in various meetings and calls, including the Terminal Ops Call.

Skills And Qualifications

  1. Advanced Excel skills including proficiency in pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas, and data visualization.
  2. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  3. Excellent time management and multi-tasking capabilities.
  4. Strong deadline orientation and self-motivation.
  5. Outgoing personality with effective conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  6. Ability to provide and accept constructive feedback.
