Tasks:
  1. Plan, develop, implement and evaluate human resources policies and programs
  2. Advise managers and employees on the interpretation of human resources policies, benefit programs and collective agreements
  3. Establish and implement policies and procedures
  4. Oversee the classification and rating of occupations
  5. Plan, develop and implement recruitment strategies
  6. Research and prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions and salary scales
  7. Manage contracts
  8. Co-ordinate employee performance and appraisal programs
  9. Manage training and development strategies
  10. Oversee the analysis of employee data and information
  11. Research employee benefits and health and safety practices and recommend changes
  12. Oversee development of communication strategies
  13. Oversee the preparation of reports
  14. Advise senior management
  15. Respond to employee questions and complaints
  16. Liaise with management, union officials and HR consultants
  17. Organize staff consultation and grievance procedures
  18. Oversee payroll administration
  19. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
  20. Recruit and hire staff
  21. Conduct performance reviews
  22. Propose improvements to methods, systems and procedures
  23. Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury

Supervision: 16-20 people

Human resources software, MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows, MS Word, Database software
