Job Summary:

RMHC Atlantic is seeking a dedicated Facilities Coordinator to lead health and safety initiatives and oversee the maintenance of our new facility. Reporting to the Family Services Manager, the Facilities Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the house, coordinating trades-related work, managing inventory, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for families.

  • Maintenance Oversight:
    • Oversee the overall maintenance of the house, including routine maintenance tasks and repairs.
    • Perform basic handyman duties as needed, such as minor plumbing, and electrical work.
    • Keep all systems in-check daily, and make sure all Information Technology system related to the house are working in the right order.
    • Prioritize maintenance needs and develop preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Health and Safety Leadership:
    • Serve as the lead for health and safety initiatives within the organization.
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and address safety concerns promptly.
  • Facility Coordination:
    • Coordinate all trades-related work, including repairs, renovations, and maintenance projects.
    • Collaborate with contractors and vendors to ensure quality workmanship and timely completion of projects.
    • Maintain accurate records of work orders and invoices.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Lead inventory management efforts for the entire house, including supplies, equipment, and furnishings.
    • Monitor inventory levels, reorder supplies as needed, and track expenses.
    • Conduct regular audits of the inventory to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Housekeeping and Security Coordination:
    • Oversee housekeeping staff to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the facility.
    • Work closely with security personnel to implement security protocols and ensure the safety of guests and staff.

Qulifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in facilities management or a related field.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication, computer and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and avilaible for emergencies.
  • Basic handyman skills and knowledge of building systems.
  • Experience working in a non-profit or healthcare setting is an asset.
