Our client, a leading Canadian food manufacturer, is looking to hire a Labour Relations Manager for their plant facility in Brampton.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Labour Relations Manager will manage HR-related matters across the manufacturing site and provide strategic guidance to ensure alignment with company objectives.

This role involves advising on policy, CBA administration, recruiting, employee performance, and other HR-related matters to support both management and employees.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Management to provide end-to-end HR support.
  • Ensure alignment of HR services and programs with the overall strategic direction of the company in partnership with the Director, HR, and the HR team.
  • Offer support and counsel to management and employees on various employee/labour relations and HR initiatives, promoting positive engagement.
  • Manage day-to-day labour relations, including grievance handling.
  • Promote progressive employee/employer relations and labour/management principles.
  • Provide direction and guidance on pay, benefits, policies, and reviews.
  • Review local compensation administration and performance management with site managers.
  • Communicate and assist employees within the sites.
  • Support and assist with benefit-related questions, claims resolutions, and disability/WSIB transitional work management programs.
  • Lead the full-cycle recruitment process, supporting hiring managers and making hiring recommendations.
  • Implement various HR initiatives, providing recommendations on process and program improvements.
  • Organize corporate events such as fundraising campaigns and participate in Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years’ experience in a hands-on HR leadership role, preferably in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • University Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management or related field.
  • Health & Safety experience is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Employment Standards, Human Rights, WSIB, and Labour legislation.
  • Flexible and results-oriented.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, gain credibility, influence, and provide coaching.
  • Superior communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation.
  • Exhibit strong professionalism and diplomacy in all matters requiring discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
