Chief Engineer – 5* Hotel

Salary: $100,000

About the Client:

Our client is a 5* Hotel offering elegant accommodations, top-tier amenities, and stunning city views in Vancouver, BC. They are currently seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee the maintenance and operation of all engineering facilities.

Responsibilities:
  1. Overseeing the maintenance and operation of all engineering facilities
  2. Managing a team of technicians and engineering staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation
  3. Developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs to ensure the ongoing functionality of equipment and facilities
  4. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining a safe work environment for staff and guests
  5. Managing the budget for the engineering department, including forecasting expenses, monitoring spending, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of building systems
  • Experience managing a team of engineering staff, including hiring, training, and performance management
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues quickly and effectively
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards related to building operations and maintenance
