Blackbird Security Inc is looking to hire a Hybrid Loss Prevention/Uniform/Tactical Training Supervisor in Hamilton, ON., and surrounding areas.

Role Summary:Join our team as a Hybrid Loss Prevention/Uniform/Tactical Training Supervisor, and play a pivotal role in ensuring the ongoing success of Blackbird Security Inc. in delivering top-notch services to our retail clients in Toronto. As the Training Supervisor, you'll be instrumental in building and leading a high-performing Loss Prevention and Security team, providing the necessary training and support to equip them for their responsibilities in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee the training of Loss Prevention Specialist guards in collaboration with Regional and District Managers.
  • Coordinate Use of Force certification for Loss Prevention Specialist guards with the Training Team.
  • Ensure clear communication with staff and uphold professional conduct standards.
  • Train all Loss Prevention Specialist guards to meet company standards and facilitate their continuing professional development.
  • Identify training gaps in current LP guards and develop plans to address them.
  • Ensure all LP reporting meets company standards, and prevent false arrests by ensuring adherence to mandatory loss prevention elements.
  • Conduct site-by-site audits of LP results and provide frequent check-ins to assess guards' understanding of protocols.
  • Act as a liaison with law enforcement when necessary.
  • Cover billable LP time when required and perform other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Fully support the Management Team in operational functions of various sites
  • Knowledge of company/ client policies to deliver superior quality of operational services and to ensure the well-being and preparedness of guards
  • Ensure site staff is fully trained, well-dressed, and possess the necessary knowledge to comprehend and follow their duties and responsibilities
  • Ensure guards are following Post-Orders and adhering to company and client policies
  • Mentor guards to ensure high quality services are being provided
  • Regular duty shifts will be part of your schedule
  • Ensure all staff understand how to complete and file regular site and duty reports accurately, professionally, and in a timely fashion
  • Assume leadership and maintain positive working relationships with site guards
  • Provide excellent customer service to our clients, customers and patrons
  • Perform safety and security duties with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity
  • Complete incident reports and all required documentation for security purposes.
  • Identify security violations/ threats, diffuse volatile situations and intervene accordingly, adhering to company policies
  • Respond to emergencies and escalate to law enforcement agencies as required

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds a valid Ontario Security License and Use of Force Certificate.
  • Previous supervisory and training experience is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in arresting and detaining shoplifters.
  • Proficient in loss prevention procedures, both in theory and practice.
  • Possesses a valid driver's license and own vehicle (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, and proficient in electronic communication.
  • Willingness to attend meetings and training sessions to enhance skills.
  • Knowledgeable about safety processes and procedures.
  • Ability to lead with clear objectives and effectively manage a team.
  • Ability to work without close supervision

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
