Are you passionate about serving youth? Do you desire to use your gifts in ministry? The Youth Program Coordinator’s primary objective is to assist the Affiliate Director and the Outreach Program Coordinator in meeting the needs of the youth in the Okanagan area by equipping volunteers in helping to bridge the gap between the community and the church. The qualified individual will specialize in working with Youth Pastors to create systems and programs to see our community youth access and be discipled in the local church contexts. Responsibilities:                                                                                                                                      SPIRITUAL AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT (10%)
  1. Is a faithful and contributing member of a local church.
  2. Pray for and with YFC Canada Team.
  3. Spend time in spiritual reflection and development.
  4. If support and timing work take a bi-annual spiritual retreat at Honeymoon Bay Retreat Centre or another retreat centre.
  5. Completion of the YFC Canada Credentialing process within 2 years of start date.
  6. Attend YFC Regional and National conferences.
  7. Participate in training and development courses, conferences and workshops as approved by supervisor.
DIRECT MINISTRY (40%)
  1. Work with area Youth Workers, Youth Ministries, and other like-minded partners to build better programs and systems to see our community students access and be discipled in the local church.
  2. Challenge and equip Youth Pastors and Christian youth to reach students in our community.
  3. Connect with and network with principals, teachers, and resource agencies in the area whenever possible to identify and meet the needs of community youth.
  4. Work closely with the Okanagan Outreach program coordinator to create better on-ramps for students to access discipleship communities. 
  5. Attend and help run weekly outreaches and create follow-up programs.
  6. These ministries will be focused on meeting students where they are and contextualizing the good news of Jesus in their lives. 
PROGRAMS/VOLUNTEERS (25%)
  1. Equip volunteers to work in the community with youth.
  2. Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers for the weekly outreach.
  3. Invest in the health and resiliency of volunteers
  4. Pray for the ministry and the students. 
ORGANIZATION / ADMINISTRATIVE (20%)
  1. Meet regularly with supervisor.
  2. Keep records of Ministry activities and events.
PERSONAL PARTNER DEVELOPMENT (5%)
  1. Personal partnership development – which includes securing and maintaining a sound base of financial & prayer partners to a level sufficient to fund this position's salary and immediate costs.
  2. Gather financial and prayer support from the Christian community
  3. Build a base of prayer partners and keep them updated through regular communications and prayer requests. Encourage prayer partners to pray for youth in Canada and globally.
