Position Summary:

As the Vice President of Software Engineering, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of our software development initiatives. You will play a critical role in driving innovation, ensuring technical excellence, and delivering high-quality software products that meet our business objectives. This position requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of software engineering principles.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the software engineering team to drive innovation and excellence in software development.
  • Define and implement best practices, processes, and methodologies to ensure efficient and high-quality software development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and quality assurance, to align software development efforts with business goals.
  • Lead the recruitment, retention, and development of top software engineering talent.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation within the software engineering organization.
  • Oversee the architecture, design, development, and deployment of scalable and reliable software solutions.
  • Manage the software development lifecycle, from planning and prioritization to release and maintenance.
  • Drive technical excellence and ensure adherence to coding standards, quality metrics, and industry best practices.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators and metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of software development efforts.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and innovations in software engineering and leverage them to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of leadership and success in software engineering roles, with at least 10 years of experience in software architecture and development in a cloud environment.
  • 10 years’ experience in software engineering leadership positions.
  • Strong technical background and expertise in software development methodologies, technologies, and tools.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving results and achieving business objectives.
  • Experience in recruiting, mentoring, and managing high-performing software engineering teams.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalability principles.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead teams through change and ambiguity.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Must have experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and familiarity with DevOps practices in the cloud.
