Job Overview:

Under the Direction of the Community Support Service Director, the Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day activities, coordinates and facilitates engaging programs for older adults across West Parry Sound District to enhance community engagement, prevent isolation, and improve attendees' health and wellness.

The high-priority focus is on information and referral to reach underserved populations and engage seniors through planning and delivering programs.

Core responsibilities will include but are not limited to organizing instructors and volunteers and participating in evaluation.

The Coordinator will work with internal and external stakeholders through program delivery to build, develop, and maintain effective client relations and community partnerships.

General duties will include but are not limited to identifying opportunities for program improvement and expansion.

- Plan, organize, and facilitate social, recreational, educational, health and wellness, and exercise-based programming in rural communities across WPSD, including evaluating program delivery, effectiveness, and viability.

- Identify, locate, and secure appropriate space for program delivery and, where possible, bundle with existing programs and locations.

Essential duties are but not limited to:

- Developing, building, and maintaining partnerships and initiatives with community organizations and networks.

- Expand awareness of programs and initiatives through oral presentations to community stakeholders and written articles for local publications.

- Coordinated program outreach, community relations, and marketing efforts to increase participation and volunteerism.

- Recruit, train, orient, direct, and evaluate volunteers to assist with program delivery.

- Work with communities to identify and fill any gaps in existing services.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
