Brief description of the position:

In order to meet the needs of its clients in the IT sector, FOP CONSULTANTS is currently looking for software developer consultants motivated to carry out mandates. The main missions would be to perform debugging tests, update software and specific documents, develop prototype software, make recommendations for improvement and collaborate with other departments involved in the application development process.

Main responsibilities:

Without limitation, the main tasks involve:

  • Manage various software and application development projects;
  • Program and execute software debugging tests according to established specifications;
  • Analyze and evaluate user needs and make appropriate recommendations;
  • Improve, correct malfunctions and update applications and software;
  • Work closely with the various departments (engineering, analyst, quality assurance) for the coordination and follow-up of application and software development projects;
  • Keep a technology watch in order to be up to date with technological changes and adapt to them;
  • Write and update all documentation required for the use, development and maintenance of computer programs;
  • Serve as a support to users of software and applications and act as an expert;
  • Participate in the training of personnel;
  • Provide solutions to problems encountered and perform all tasks relevant to the mandate.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or other related discipline;
  • 1 (one) to 10 (ten) years of experience in the IT field;
  • Project management (an asset);
  • Relevant experience in software and application development (an asset);
  • Knowledge of Microsoft BI components (Power BI, SSIS, T-SQL, MDX, etc.), an asset;
  • Knowledge of cloud computing and big data (SQL Managed Instance, SQL Data Warehouse, HD Insight Spark, etc.), an asset;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, Gantt charts;
  • All tasks relevant to the mandate.
  • Proficient to MS Office;
  • Writing/oral communication skills, English and French;
  • Perfect bilingualism (an asset);
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license (an asset);
  • Mobility, willing to travel (an asset).
