SDN is used to effectively manage large-scale downstream and upstream traffic served by Akamai's sites. You'll participate in the full software development life cycle.

The SDN Quality Assurance team is responsible for extensive testing of Akamai SDN solution that spans multiple underlying technologies. The team performs end-to-end testing of the complete SDN system using an in-lab emulation of the production environment, using real network equipment and tests interactions with external systems used on Akamai's Platform.

Make an Impact with our Software Defined Networking SQA team

As a Software Development Engineer in Test II, you will be responsible for:

  1. Designing and implementation of tests for SDN system consisted of software-based SDN controller and multiple routers
  2. Developing test framework and tools in Python
  3. Building and managing production-like test setups consisting of several hardware routers and servers in Krakow lab
  4. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective communication and code development
  5. Testing and monitoring software performance within the Akamai system
  6. Learning about our distributed systems, products, and the technical stack as necessary for your role
  7. Contributing to internal research processes, methodologies, and approaches to create and share best practices
Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  1. Have BA or higher in Telecommunications or Computer Science or a related field
  2. Have development experience using Python and familiarity with Linux environment
  3. Have experience with DevOps and CI/CD processes and tools (Jenkins, GIT, Docker, Ansible etc.)
  4. Have good knowledge about L2/L3 Computer Networks (switching, routing)
  5. Have experience in verification engineering techniques such as black/white box testing, identifying and formulating test case
  6. Be familiar with SQL and REST API
