flexible packaging, pouches, bags, shrink sleeves,and roll-fed labels, who is hiring for a Controls Engineer.

Position Highlights

·Title: Controls Engineer

· Full-Time Direct Hire

Background Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering/CET with minimum 5 years of experience in related field
  • 3 years of control systems design and programming experience
  • Must be able to travel to local and international customer sites
  • A thorough understanding of electrical control systems for automated machinery
  • A good understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic control systems for automated machinery
  • Proven programming skills using Allen Bradley, Omron, and Siemens PLC’s and HMI’s
  • Proven control system troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with networking and communication protocols including fieldbus networks
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Must have a valid Ontario G Driver’s License
  • Must be able to legally travel through throughout Canada, United States, and Mexico for business purposes
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • 50-70% travel required in North America

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze design specifications and customer requirements
  • Prepare functional specifications
  • Design of Controls System
  • Programming and testing of PLC-based manufacturing equipment
  • Graphical user interface development
  • Data acquisition programming
  • Integrate and test programs onsite
  • On-site troubleshooting and support of existing equipment
  • Writing operator and service manuals
  • Develop concepts and determine costs for proposals to customers
  • Development of Siemens, Omron, and Rockwell PLC and HMI programs
  • Prepare functional descriptions of process controls and sequence of operations
  • Assist customers and/or co-workers with electrical/programming issues
  • Troubleshoot and fix minor electrical issue
  • All other duties as assigned
