YOUR ROLE

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the recruitment and selection process by coordinating job postings, regional job fairs, collection and screening of resumes, arrangement of venues for interviews, participation in interviews, reference checks and letters of offer.
  • Continuously evaluates and suggests new methods when developing recruitment strategies in collaboration with the Community Engagement Managers to acquire new talent and analyzes organization’s needs to anticipate hiring.
  • Maintains a pulse on recruitment trends and uses appropriate channels to source and develop the pipeline of qualified candidates. Research and shares with Managers any outreach opportunities in the community (e.g., employment centers, employment agencies, newcomer centers, adult schools, colleges, and universities) and social media channels (LinkedIn).
  • Prepares HR dashboards and ad hoc reports. Provides relevant HR metrics to management on a proactive basis to assist them in managing their workforces.
  • Collaborates with managers to ensure future needs are identified for proactive planning to manage the workforce. Facilitates meetings as a touch point on recruitment needs and strategy.
  • Manages Canada Summer Jobs to include completing funding applications, communication with MP’s and Service Canada Program Officers. Coordinates recruitment and ensures all compliance documents are collected.
  • Manages the recruitment and full onboarding of volunteer and placement students. Ensures volunteer and placement students records meet organizational standards and compliance.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • University degree or diploma in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  • CHRP/CHRL designation or working towards.
  • 3-6 years of experience in a recruitment capacity.
  • Experience within the not-for-profit sector preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment and selection strategies and best practices.
  • Sound knowledge of employment, payroll, and related legislation and its application to the organization (Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively convey messaging and deliver training.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills to confidentially handle sensitive situations with tact, empathy, respect, and professionalism at all times.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload, and work effectively within a team and independently.
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s license, access to reliable vehicle, and the ability to travel.
