The Director, Data Governance will report to the Senior Director, Data Operations and will be responsible for collaborating with senior stakeholders across multiple departments (Analytics, Ad Ops, Marketing, Registration, Education, Editorial) to set a strategic direction and establish best practices for data.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, maintain, and support data governance platform strategy and roadmaps.
  • Design and maintain data standards, policies, and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy and security.
  • Access, recommend, and implement capabilities related to business metadata, data lineage, data profiling, data asset curation, and data quality improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (required).
  • 8+ years of data governance experience to support the successful implementation of data strategy.
  • Experience with data governance tools – Collibra, Alation, etc.
  • Experience with Master data management and Enterprise data catalog.
  • Strong knowledge of modern technologies like cloud computing and cybersecurity as well as data platforms like AWS and Snowflake.
  • Superior communication skills and business stakeholder management.
  • Data product launch experience a plus.
  • Verifiable and consistent work history.
  • Valid drivers license.
