POSITION OVERVIEW:Startec Compression & Process is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer – Package to work at our Shepard Office (9423 Shepard Rd SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 4R6). The Senior Project Engineer – Package will be responsible for the design, development, and execution of Gas Compression, Refrigeration and Gas Processing packages. Reporting to the Package Engineering Supervisor, the Senior Project Engineer – Package is responsible to ensure appropriate quality and integrity of product design, including responsibility for stamping of drawings when required. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovative design solutions, conducting thorough analyses to optimize package efficiency, and adhering to industry standards and regulatory guidelines. The Senior Project Engineer – Package will manage and assist with all technical and manufacturing issues on multiple Projects. The Senior Project Engineer – Package will utilize their expertise to provide engineering support to the Service department during equipment commissioning and start-up. Additionally, the role involves mentoring and guiding junior Engineers and Engineering Technologists, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives of the Engineering Department.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- P.Eng (APEGA) or Professional Licensee (Engineering)
- 10+ years (compression, refrigeration and gas processing, packaging/manufacturing)
- Experience working at a supervisory capacity with Project Engineers/Technologist and designers.
- Strong knowledge of process simulation software (e.g., HYSYS, VMG)
- Strong knowledge of requirements from Engineering jurisdictions (ABSA, EGBC, TSASK)
- Strong knowledge of ASME / ANSI / API Codes, good knowledge of CSA Codes.
- Strong technical knowledge of packaging design principles, materials, and fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant tools.
- Proficient with NAVISWORK Freedom for 3D Model Review
- Knowledge of regulations, standards, and certifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, problem-solving, decision-making skills and customer focused.
