Minimum Qualifications3 years of experience underwriting in residential originations
Job SummaryAs an Underwriter, you'll analyze and verify loan applications, evaluate risk and make loan eligibility decisions. You'll ensure all documentation is compliant with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities- Review and underwrite customer loans within prescribed authority level, escalating unusual or complex cases to leadership where appropriate
- Review due diligence documents submitted to validate the borrower’s willingness and ability to repay the loan
- Analyze loan risk and request additional information as necessary
- Make loan eligibility decisions and approve or reject applications
- Review and specify loan conditions as necessary
- Ensure deals are underwritten and adhere to internal policy, procedures, guidelines, insurer programs and regulatory requirements
- Document and efficiently communicate reasons for the approval/rejection of loans
- Review appraisal and/or site inspection reports
- Manage the relationship with submitting agent/broker source
- Set the pricing and manage the profitability of each transaction
- Identify and assess AML and fraud risks
- Manage pipeline and ensure daily production goals are met

The salary range for this position is forty-eight thousand five hundred dollars to seventy-eight thousand five hundred dollars. The position may also be eligible for an annual bonus and other employment-related benefits including, but not limited to, medical, dental, and vision benefits and paid-time off. The information regarding compensation and other benefits included in this paragraph is only an estimate and is subject to revision from time to time as the Company, in its sole and exclusive discretion, deems appropriate. The Company may determine during its review of the proposed compensation and benefits provided for this position, that the compensation and benefits for such position should be reduced. In no event will the Company reduce the compensation for the position to a level below the applicable jurisdictional minimum wage rate for the position.
