An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate in Fund Finance (Private Credit) based in Toronto. What you'll do:

As a Senior Associate in Fund Finance (Private Credit), you will play an integral role in supporting the financial operations of our client's closed-end private credit funds. Your responsibilities will include reviewing financial reports, supporting transaction execution, completing compliance deliverables and providing input on team projects. You will also have the opportunity to interact with various corporate groups at the company, including Tax, Legal, Compliance, Investor Relations, Information Technology, and the Investment Teams; as well as third-party vendors such as Fund auditors, Fund administrators, banking partners and Finance IT vendors.

  • Review accruals and billings, management fee calculations, post journal entries in internal accounting system
  • Prepare investment interest accrival schedules, perform cash and position reconciliation
  • Support Fund Managers throughout quarter-end and year-end processes
  • Liaise with fund auditors throughout year-end process
  • Monitor, assess and implement new accounting pronouncements impacting the Funds under US GAAP
  • Provide superior customer service to portfolio managers and liaise with internal and external service providers
  • Assist with special projects within the team or in collaboration with other corporate groups

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Associate role will bring a wealth of experience in fund finance. You should hold CPA certification or equivalent qualification and have at least three years' relevant experience. A strong understanding of US GAAP reporting guidelines is essential, as is proficiency in Microsoft Excel. You should be able to demonstrate an understanding of funds, fund structures, fee calculations, trading strategies, financial instruments and fund offering documentation. The ability to self-start, multi-task and meet deadlines is also crucial.

  • CPA Preferred
  • Minimum 3 years related experience
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP (IFRS is a plus) reporting guidelines
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of funds, fund structures, fee calculations, trading strategies, financial instruments and fund offering documentation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to self-start, multi-task, and meet deadlines
