Join us as Mechanical Engineer, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in St-Bruno (QC), CA. You will manage Computer Aid Designer (CAD) activities and deliverables in one Electrical or Mechanical Domain on project in compliance with QCD commitments. Apply applicable Electrical/Mechanical Domain instructions, processes & tools.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Performing 3D, design annotations, and 2D deliverables in compliance with QCD commitments, Metier rules and processes.
  2. Modelling and storing allocated volumes and interfaces for sub-systems/components in Digital Mock-Up.
  3. Performing Detailed Design on internal sub-systems.
  4. Filling up attributes for each part in Digital Mock-Up (naming, material, Fire & Smoke, etc.).
  5. Verifying the consistency of the digital mock-up (no clash, etc.) and compliance with requirements (allocated volumes, weight, interfaces, etc.) on assigned scope.
  6. Preparing and documenting Domain Design Reviews.
  7. Updating Digital Mock-Up taking into account Change Requests.
  8. Checking CADs' and sub-contractor's Design Quality.
  9. Realizing stack-up analysis.
  10. Realizing Bill of Material.
  11. Planning and piloting Electrical/Mechanical Domain activities of assigned zone and related deliverables on project taking into account applicable instructions/processes and other specific Customer (internal or external) requirements.
  12. Applying TE or TD rules, processes and tools (single-domain) and ensuring Domain deliverables quality and their acceptance by the Customer (internal or external) within committed limits.
  13. Managing the production of deliverables in accordance with planning targets on the Domain assigned zone.
  14. Designing products taking into account project requirements (performances, manufacturability, serviceability, testability, etc.).
  15. Preparing and documenting Domain Design Reviews according to project schedule and following up the main open actions.
  16. Checking respect of Allocated volumes/interfaces (no-clashes) on internal design.
  17. Resolving project issues in assigned zone.
  18. Reporting on the Electrical/Mechanical Domain activities progress and alerting relevant N+1 in case of issue potentially impacting achievement of QCD commitments.
  19. Respecting and/or allocating requirements and interfaces to Sub-Systems/equipment (Allocated volume, weight, location, 3PL, etc.).
  20. Analysing change request impacts on assigned zone and applying change if request accepted.
  21. Validating relevant Domain deliverables and securing planning.
  22. Performing quotation of engineering work-package, upon request.
  23. Defining Project Decomposition (PBS).
  24. Supporting Sourcing, Industrialization, and Manufacturing teams during Production ramp-up.
  25. Collaborating with MDL for continuous improvement of the Domain (including RoE).
  26. Consolidating the mechanical design physical verification plan for Train & sub-system levels.
  27. Writing the train level verification specifications (including inputs and technical data from other actors) and identifying the development configuration baseline consistent with the inputs used to define the verification.
  28. Verifying train architecture plan complementarity with Subsystem verifications, and supporting Subsystem whenever needed.
  29. Managing the Train architecture verification budget.
  30. Optimizing the mock-up definition to the just needed to mitigate identified risks.
  31. Proposing prototyping and test solution allowing to perform with the verification in time to avoid rework in case of failure.
  32. Verifying TA plan integration by the TPM team.
  33. The definition of risks to be mitigated.

As our ideal candidate:

  • You have studies on Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferably applied to Railway products with 1 to 2 years of experience.
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills including with third parties (customer).
  • Time management and reporting skills.
  • Sense of urgency/priority.
  • You are structured and organized with a hands-on approach.
  • You are operational in French & English - read/writing and technical meetings.
