Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced truck mechanic apprentice who is eager to advance their skills within a supportive environment. Penske provides the resources and training necessary for success, including industry-leading technology, tools, and state-of-the-art trucks. Our vehicle maintenance experts will guide your development through OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) training.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair a variety of components, including engines (gas and diesel), drivetrains, electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, brakes, suspension, steering, and more.
  • Utilize all workshop tools effectively and safely.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Collaborate with other technicians to ensure efficient workflow and problem-solving.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and best practices at all times.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as an automotive or heavy equipment mechanic is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license; preference for Class 3 license. Must be able to obtain a Class 3 license within 6 months of hiring.
  • Basic computer skills are beneficial.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform tasks requiring standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
