Job Description – Senior Accountant:
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Accountant. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records while providing insights to support the decision-making process. Duties include but are not limited to providing support for the day-to-day operations of Flexxaire, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general accounting/reporting, and payroll.
- Provide support to the Controller with the preparation of month-end financial statements.
- Performing day to day full cycle accounting tasks.
- Maintain capital expenditure and depreciation schedules.
- Potential to process bi-weekly payroll in PayWorks.
- Assist the Controller with preparing various year-end working papers and documents for external accounting firm.
- Review and maintain schedules relating to SR&ED expenses.
- Prepare various month end entries and schedules.
- Generate semi-monthly accounts payable cheque/EFT runs.
- Prepare multicurrency invoices for approval and wire transfer.
- Perform month end reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform month end entries, bank reconciliations, and schedules for related company.
- Assist in budgeting initiatives and monitoring activity.
- Assist in development of performance measures that support the strategic direction of the company.
- Assist the accounting and administrative departments with holiday coverage, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum requirements:
- Will have a recognized Canadian Business/Accounting Degree or equivalent.
- May be working toward their CPA designation.
- May have a CPA or other Accounting Certification
- Minimum 5 years working in full cycle accounting.
- Enjoys multiple roles and excels in a positive work environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, Zoom, and other online platforms.
- Highly organized and detail orientated and able to handle multiple priorities.
- Likes to take initiative in problem solving.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a part of the team.
- Takes ownership of job responsibilities.
The following experience is considered an asset:
- Payroll experience
- Sage 300/AccPac experience
- Working with multi-currency transactions
- Experience working in a manufacturing facility is a plus
