Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of Last Mile, as the Director of Last Mile Operations, Ontario & Atlantic at Metro Supply Chain, you will provide support to all Last Mile services with internal and external customers. You will continuously look for ways to improve the efficiency of your region’s overall network performance, capacity management, field operations, budgeting, and overall financials. You’ll also maintain positive and ongoing relationships with external customers, ensuring we are meeting and exceeding expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to your management team for the execution of special projects, onboarding new customers, SOP launches and training campaigns.
  • Manage delivery team performance, service expectations, training standards and continuous improvement efforts across all Last Mile Hubs and Agent markets.
  • Set performance goals and development plans and provide on-going coaching of the region’s management members to achieve career objectives.
  • Lead and develop continuous improvement efforts across people and processes within the region. Conduct analysis and develop recommendations on various logistics strategy projects that involve complex cost/benefit tradeoffs, e.g., number, locations, and sizing of distribution facilities and last mile facilities, market entry or exit, etc.
  • Review monthly financial reports and adjust operational & labor spend to promote profitability. Create/develop annual budgets with your regional manager and general managers to promote fiscal accountability and ownership at site level.
  • Foster a “Customer First” culture within all departments including Business Development, Implementation, Customer Experience, Reverse Logistics, cross regional initiatives, and Delivery Partners
  • Collaborate with peers to drive consistency in standard operating procedures across the country. Drive improvements in supply chain network optimization strategies, lead time reduction, analytics and methodologies while optimizing resource utilization.

EDUCATION:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business or Logistics Management or Transport Operations

EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years Management experience (5+ in a senior role) in 3PL Transportation field, with 5+ years in home delivery service operations
