This is a significant leadership role within the Maintenance Organization. Our Team

Our team is made up of an integrated, supportive group of about 8 maintenance leaders, providing leadership to 85 trades professionals. The team is integrated with engineering, planning, and operations resources. A team where personal growth and teamwork are highly valued, and employees take ownership to deliver results safely and to a high standard of quality. The Turnaround Leader will lead and manage all phases of turnaround and major outage processes, working closely with all groups across the site. This role reports to our Maintenance & Engineering Manager.

What You Will Do

  • The Site Turnaround Leader is responsible for delivering business results associated with turnarounds and large maintenance events on the site’s production equipment. Primary business results include safety, compliance, asset reliability, costs, duration, quality, and post-overhaul start-up performance.
  • The Turnaround Leader sets the direction and is responsible for the coordination of the integrated team including Operations, Maintenance, Planning, Contractors, Reliability, and Production Engineering.
  • For smaller maintenance events, the Turnaround Leader will be responsible for leading field execution coordination, creating a winning team culture that results in optimal readiness and successful execution of events.
  • Key aspects of the Role include:
    • Engaging key stakeholders for alignment on priorities, initiatives, and processes.
    • Optimizing the overhaul plan for scope, cost, and duration.
    • Preparing estimates and detailed schedules.
    • Analyzing progress, adjusting resources, documenting, and communicating during overhaul execution.
  • The Turnaround Leader is accountable for driving continuous improvement, which includes conducting post-overhaul critiques, benchmarking, and innovating towards improved results.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering OR post-secondary diploma in engineering with applied Project Management or Turnaround experience.
  • Five (5) or more years of Turnaround or Large Industrial/Construction Project Management experience (i.e. Leading, Planning, Execution, construction management).
  • Experience in a supervisory or leadership role (people or project leadership).
  • Experience applying project management principles and methodologies.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Previous leadership of turnaround or other multidisciplinary teams in a chemical manufacturing facility.
  • Experience using SAP.
  • Experience in data analytics and associated tools such as MS Power BI.
