The Senior Financial Analyst will report into the Senior Manager, Finance Business Partner-Central and will be responsible for supporting our team by anticipating the needs of the business and providing strategies to support decision making.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide finance support for Central Canada as well as various national processes/initiatives
  2. Provide financial expertise and analysis to support business decisions
  3. Track performance against budget, prior year and forecast
  4. Identify variances to actual results
  5. Understand cost drivers, support problem solving and develop recommendations
  6. Generate analytics on performance, identifying problems, and initiating process improvement
  7. Provide financial and business-related analysis to assess the impact of various projects
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Provide monthly reporting to each area of the business supported
  2. Assist in the preparation of materials for monthly Executive presentations, Canada Post and Audit Committee presentations
  3. Track and report on KPI’s providing insight on change
  4. Leverage previous experience and learning to optimize current reporting, daily tasks, etc.
  5. Other Ad-hoc financial / business reporting as required
Planning:
  1. Prepare, co-ordinate and facilitate the annual operating budgets for designated divisions and national initiatives
  2. Co-ordinate with operations management to quantify the impact of operational initiatives and changes versus prior year
Supporting the Business:
  1. Create, maintain and generate forecasts and various models
  2. Support the development, implementation and reporting of internal processes and controls
  3. Provide data to assist management to develop action plans to improve profitability
  4. Generates capital request forms, and supports business case creation
Qualifications:
  1. 3-5 years of experience in a relevant financial role
  2. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  3. Possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  4. Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of audiences
  5. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a high paced work environment
  6. Must be proactive with the ability to work well independently or as part of a cross functional team
  7. University or College degree in Accounting / Finance / Business
  8. CPA designation or enrollment in CPA Certification Program considered an asset
  9. Experience in logistics considered an asset
  10. 10-15% Travel to terminals in Ontario will be required
