Our team is looking for an experienced Materials Manager for our manufacturing client in Calgary Alberta.
Summary: Manage the supply of raw materials to support production in a just-in-time, Lean manufacturing environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Foster a safety culture and ensure compliance with safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Manage receipt and disposition of materials.
- Plan, order, and manage storage of raw materials using MAP/MRP system.
- Oversee Lean raw material replenishment and storage on the production floor.
- Manage material life cycle and eliminate obsolete inventory items.
- Issue and report quality alerts for raw materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and resolve discrepancies with cycle counts.
- Optimize inbound delivery and manage freight costs.
- Assist in improving key results areas (KRAs) and service excellence.
Experience & Education:
- 8-10 years in a Lean manufacturing environment.
- BA/BS Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with OSHA regulations.
- APICS/CPM certification preferred.
- Up to 25% travel.
