Trends & Foresight Analyst – About this role

We are seeking a Trends & Foresight Analyst to join our team and contribute to our mission of driving innovation for our clients. As a Trends & Foresight Analyst, you will play a crucial role in identifying emerging trends, predicting future challenges, and developing strategic solutions to navigate complex problems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative and future-enhancing strategies that drive organizational growth for some of the world’s most powerful brands such as McDonald’s, Walmart, Pernod Ricard and Kraft-Heinz. You’ll tackle subjects such as emerging trends with Gen Z, flexitarian lifestyles, the future of retail technology and more for brands across retail, CPG and QSR. This role will report directly with our VP of Trends & Foresight and include various opportunities for mentorship and growth within one of Canada’s top growing companies.

Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct research and analysis to identify emerging trends and anticipate future challenges in various industries and sectors.
  • Develop strategic foresight and implementation plans for design, business, policy innovations, or organizational change.
  • Utilize design-thinking methodologies to explore and test innovative ideas, trends and research in-market examples of how trends are manifesting in-market as well as changes to culture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in qualitative and quantitative research to develop innovative solutions that address future needs and challenges for clients.
  • Help develop strong narratives in trend reports that help to solve complex problems and illuminate opportunities for clients.
  • Aid in the organization and facilitation of workshops and working sessions with clients.

Experience, Skills and Requirements:

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data and information to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
  • Strategic Thinking: Capacity to think strategically and anticipate future challenges and opportunities.
  • Creative Problem-Solving: Strong creative thinking skills to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Love of Research: Ability to gather and analyze data effectively, an inherently curious attitude and a passion for culture.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively convey insights, ideas, and recommendations to stakeholders verbally and through PowerPoint.
  • Project Management: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines while maintaining close attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a related field (e.g., business, economics, sociology, advertising, research, etc.).
  • 1-3 years experience in trend analysis, foresight, strategic planning, or related fields.
  • Strong communication and storytelling abilities.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
