Le Fonds des médias du Canada (FMC) est à la recherche d'une ou d'un responsable de la recherche qui se joindra à son équipe Prospective et innovation.
Vos futures tâches
La ou le responsable de la recherche, Prospective et innovation, mène des recherches et analyse l'industrie des écrans pour soutenir les objectifs du service, à savoir identifier les dynamiques qui refaçonnent le secteur et en comprendre les potentiels effets. Le travail de recherche du département Prospective et innovation vise à proposer aux équipes du FMC des recommandations fondées sur des données et à offrir à l'industrie un niveau élevé d'expertise, que ce soit par l'intermédiaire de la publication Perspectives ou de conférences professionnelles.
Fonctions et responsabilités
- Chercher, filtrer et analyser des informations et des données sur les industries des écrans
- Tenir à jour les outils d'agrégation, de filtrage et de classification des données et veiller à la facilité d'accès aux données de recherche par les collègues
- Mener la collecte et l'analyse de données quantitatives et qualitatives, des enquêtes et des analyses
- Produire des notes d'information et des rapports internes, et préparer des présentations en vue d'interventions externes
- Soutenir la gestion globale de Perspectives :
- Mener des recherches sur les sujets proposés;
- Déterminer les données et les documents nécessaires à l'appui de la publication, du projet de conception et le calendrier de travail;
- Gérer les budgets et assurer la coordination générale de la production;
- Gérer les approbations et la publication des rapports en collaboration avec les équipes concernées (qu'il s'agisse d'études internes ou confiées à des tiers)
- Proposer et/ou coordonner des initiatives stratégiques et des publications avec des tiers, comme des études de cas de l'industrie. Superviser les activités liées à la réalisation de ces initiatives et assurer, le cas échéant, la liaison entre les parties, les équipes du FMC et leurs interlocuteur·ices
- Consulter ses collègues et les autres membres du personnel du FMC concernés et collaborer avec tout le monde pour atteindre efficacement les objectifs stratégiques
- Connaissance poussée des industries des écrans (télévision, jeux, médias numériques) canadiennes (marchés de langue française et anglaise) et internationales, de leur infrastructure et des questions connexes (en particulier la technologie, les pratiques commerciales et la concurrence sur les marchés)
- Expérience pratique de la gestion de projets et de partenariats (opérations logistiques, calendriers de production, gestion de livrables, etc.)
- Connaissance approfondie des moteurs de recherche et d'autres outils Web utilisés dans la recherche, le tri et la classification de diverses sources d'information (p. ex., Evernote, Outlook RSS, Pocket, Feedly, etc.)
- Capacité à s'adapter à un environnement en évolution rapide dans lequel l'incertitude et la croissance vont de pair
- Connaissance de l'environnement de l'innovation et des jeunes pousses technologiques (atout)
- Baccalauréat en études médiatiques ou culturelles (préférence)
- De trois à cinq ans d'expérience pratique dans le secteur des médias (télévision ou médias numériques)
- Sens poussé de l'organisation et de la gestion du temps
- Aptitudes analytiques et pensée critique
- Excellente communication orale et écrite, en français et en anglais
- Expérience dans le traitement, la gestion et l'analyse de données quantitatives et qualitatives.
- Respect des échéances, souvent très serrées
- Capacité à traiter de l'information confidentielle et de nature délicate
- Maîtrise de la suite Microsoft Office
- Connaissances des logiciels d'analyse de données, comme PowerBI et Tableau (atout important)
- Compétences en conception de sondages (atout)
Type d'emploi : Permanent, à temps plein.
Heures de travail : 35 heures par semaine (horaire flexible à l'intérieur des heures normales de bureau).
Lieu de travail : Temporairement à distance. Après le retour en présentiel, la ou le titulaire du poste travaillera au bureau de Montréal ou de Toronto.

What You Will Do
The Research Lead, Foresight and Innovation, conducts research and analyzes the screen industry to support the department's objectives. These objectives include identifying the dynamics, (re)shaping the sector and understanding how they may impact it. Foresight and Innovation's research aims to make robust data-driven recommendations to the CMF's teams and deliver high level expertise to the industry, whether through the department publication "Perspectives" or industry conferences.
Duties And Responsibilities
Proactively research, filter and analyze information and data about the screen industries Maintain and update data aggregation, filtering and classification tools and ensure ease of access for colleagues to research dataUndertake quantitative and qualitative data collection, analyses, surveys and literature reviewsProduce briefing notes, internal reports and prepare presentations for external interventionsAssist in the overall management of CMF Perspectives:
- Conduct research on suggested topics of interest.
- Identify data and materials required to support publication, design project and work schedule.
- Manage budgets and overall coordination of the production.
- Manage approvals and publication of reports in collaboration with the teams involved (whether it's internal research or outsourced research to a third party)
- Propose and/or coordinate strategic initiatives and publications with third parties, such as industry case studies. Oversee operations related to the completion of these initiatives and act as the liaison between the parties, CMF teams and their clients, as necessary
- Consult and collaborate with relevant CMF staff and departments to effectively and efficiently achieve strategic objectives
- Expert knowledge of the Canadian (both English and French markets) and international screen industries (television, gaming, digital media), their infrastructure and related issues (in particular technology, business practices and the competitive market)
- Practical experience in project management and partnerships (logistics operations, production schedules, management of deliverables, etc.)
- Broad knowledge of research engines and other Web tools used in researching, sorting and classifying various information sources (e.g., Evernote, Outlook RSS, Pocket, Feedly, etc.)
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment in which uncertainty and growth go hand in hand
- Knowledge of the innovation-and-technology start-up environment would be an asset
- Bachelor's degree in Media/Cultural Studies preferred
- 3 to 5 years of practical experience in the media sector (television or digital media)
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Analytical skills and critical thinking
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and French are required
- Experience in processing, managing and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.
- Ability to work to strict deadlines, often with short turn-around times
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
- Mastery of the Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge of data analysis software (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau) is a strong asset
- Survey design skills are an asset
