About the Company
 Forge Recruitment is partnered with our client, a large national multi-service law firm, in their search for the next Banking Law Clerk to join their Banking and Finance Practice Group in downtown Toronto.

About the Role
  • Assist with corporate and lien searches, reviewing results and assisting with addressing any needed estoppels or discharges and drafting schedules with results;
  • Draft joinder documentation, including guarantees and security documents, officer's certificates, resolutions and other banking documentation;
  • Assist lawyers and students with banking transaction matters, including managing emails and communicating with opposing counsel;
  • Identifying and solving transaction related issues and document findings;
  • Drafting, reviewing, and revising letters, memos and various documents; and
  • Ongoing file and closing record maintenance.

What You Bring
  • Law Clerk dimploma or ILCO certification
  • 3+ years' experience as a corporate law clerk, handling complex banking and transactional matters (direct banking experience considered a strong asset)
  • Strong knowledge of legislation relevant to banking practice, including PPSA and OBCA, CBCA, LPA, BNA and CIA
  • Technical proficiency with the MS Office Suite
  • Attention to detail strong judgment
