J-Tech is an automation company specializing in assembly tooling and machines. We are looking for an Intermediate/ Senior Mechanical Designer.

Requirements:

· A Diploma/Degree in Manufacturing Engineering

· High level of competency in SolidWorks

· Sound mechanical understanding

· Understanding of machining processes

· Pneumatic and hydraulic component knowledge

· Ability to manage projects, interact with customers and vendors effectively

· Ability to work in high pace automotive environment

· Ability to travel outside Canada for machine/tooling integration

Personal attributes include:

· Mechanically inclined

· An interest in how things work and a desire to improve on existing designs

· Organized

· Work with minimal direction/ Self starter

· Problem solver and understanding of root cause analysis

· Good interpersonal skills

· Being a team player

· Works well under pressure

Responsibilities Include:

· Manage project flow to meet delivery dates

· Interact with customer about project specific requirements

· Interact with vendors for technical information on components

· Design specialized tooling using SolidWorks

· Design full machines and presses for safe and efficient use

· Interact with Machine/Fabrication Shop

· Interact with controls team

· Detailing design packages for manufacture

· Create hydraulic and pneumatic schematics

· Generate BOM’s and purchased component lists for Purchaser

· Hands on assembly/installation when required

· Travel for installation/ start-up assistance for new tooling and machines when required

Job Type: Full-time

Experience:

· SolidWorks: 4 years (Required)

· Mechanical Design: 4 years (Required)
