A well established manufacturer for the transportation industry has an exciting opening for Mechanical Design Engineer. Join our Engineering team as a Design Engineer and elevate your skills while overseeing the complete product development cycle, from conception to testing. We’re looking for a proactive candidate who thrives on contributing to new product development and enhancing existing ones.

Key Responsibilities:
-Provide engineering support for new product development projects by working on product concepts, creating 3D rendered images for concept approval, creating detailed prototype designs and designs suitable for mass production.
-Design for cost, robustness, reliability, and quality; considering project targets and deadlines and whilst working in collaboration with other departments.
-Focus on aesthetic design and appearance of finished products.
-Create engineering documentation including detailed drawing using GD&T terminology, test reports and work instructions.
-Updating or supporting changes to existing models, drawings, based on Continuous Improvements, Change Notices and/or corrections.
-Provide technical support to Production, Customer Service and Sales departments.

Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics or Industrial Design.
-Must have at least 2-3 years of experience in designing physical product using all the aspects of the product development process, from conception to finished product.
-Proficiency with 3D and 2D modeling CAD software SolidWorks, AutoCAD, DraftSight.
-FEA simulation experience is an asset.
