About


Our client, a leading engineering and consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) to join their Industrial and Infrastructural Division in the Burlington office.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead Client Projects: Manage client relationships, develop project needs, and collaborate with contractors to ensure successful project completion.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiently prepare P&ID and flow sheet diagrams, schematics, and balances, while also demonstrating expertise in a wide range of industrial and building HVAC systems, utilities design, and specialty process piping network designs.
  • Project Management: Oversee equipment selection, prepare cost estimates, and manage project schedules and budgets.
  • Design and Documentation: Develop building system designs, perform calculations, and ensure drawing accuracy and quality.
  • Building Permits and Quality Assurance: Prepare permit submissions, write technical reports, and perform quality checks.


Qualifications


  • Demonstrated Experience (10+ Years): A minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrably relevant experience in designing and managing HVAC and mechanical building services systems for diverse project types. This includes experience in industrial, institutional, building, and public infrastructure projects.
  • Education: An engineering or applied science degree
  • - Technical Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of the governing codes and regulations applicable to the aforementioned systems (HVAC, air movement systems, plumbing, fire suppression, etc.).
  • Professional Accreditation (Preferred): Hold a relevant professional engineering accreditation in Ontario/ any other provinces
  • Sustainable Design Knowledge: Experience or knowledge with Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design
  • Project Management Skills: Familiarity with project management practices, including financial and contractual aspects, is required. Additionally, a working knowledge of related engineering disciplines is essential.
  • Safety Commitment: Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety with a thorough understanding of general safety guidelines and the ability to adapt to project-specific safety requirements.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential for this role.
  • Travel and Inspections: A valid driver's license and the ability to travel independently for on-site inspections as required by Ontario Building Code
