For one of our key clients within sustainability we are recruiting a civil engineer on a long term consultancy contract (that turns into a permanent direct hire contract with the end client after 12 months) in Montreal Canada.

Candidates must already have work rights for Canada.

Job Description

  • Oversee the preparation of specifications for civil engineering projects, such as roads (temporary and permanent) and site access plans, collaborating with technicians as necessary.
  • Engage with various engineering disciplines on multi-faceted projects.
  • Develop proposals, specifications, cost estimates, reports, presentations, and contract documents for engineering endeavors.
  • Conduct or supervise engineering inspections during project construction and field surveys.
  • Generate progress and completion reports for engineering projects.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the principles, methodologies, equipment, and materials utilized in mega-industrial civil engineering construction.
  • Possess the ability to interpret and create plans and specifications, and to conduct or supervise engineering inspections during project construction.
  • Conduct precise survey measurements and proficiently interpret survey calculations.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, supervisors, external stakeholders, and clients.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving abilities, reliability, and accountability, capable of both team collaboration and independent work.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer usage, particularly Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Display exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Showcase strong organizational skills, effective time management, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and a strong work ethic, even when faced with multiple deadlines and potential stressors.

Education: Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering. (Extensive experience in civil engineering or related field and classification as Licensed or Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) may be substituted for required education.)

Experience: 8-10 years experience in professional civil engineering design and construction or other related engineering work. Must be Licensed or a Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng)
