Job Opportunity: Civil Engineer

The Civil Engineer will lead the architect and engineering (A&E) and construction activities for USAID's Health Reform and Recovery Activity in Ukraine. Responsibilities include rebuilding critical infrastructure, managing projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timeliness, staying within budget, and upholding quality standards. This onsite position in Ukraine offers a salary range of $100k to $130k per annum based on experience and qualifications.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Engage in project plan development, design, and budget estimates.
  2. Review and approve technical construction designs.
  3. Track and manage project expenditures.
  4. Conduct site visits, assess project progress, and recommend corrective actions.
  5. Lead coordination with USAID bureaus/offices and other agencies.
  6. Manage project risks, ensure compliance with procedures, policies, and guidelines.
  7. Deliver infrastructure guidance materials and collaborate with stakeholders.
  8. Provide leadership to project team members and stakeholders.
  9. Work in high-pressure situations and perform other related responsibilities.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license
  • Proficiency in Ukrainian
  • 7+ years experience in small infrastructure development
  • 5 years in infrastructure design and management
  • Experience in context-appropriate infrastructure design and procurement
