Facility & Asset Management Director

You have a passion for building and asset management supporting Community Programs. You are a leader that thrives in a multi-faceted role and has excellent organizational skills. In this role, there is a heavy emphasis on facility asset management, based on the facility life cycle, including building conditions, and sustainability, which includes the daily facility maintenance, a preventative maintenance plan and the coordination of renovations required in the 17 facilities. You will take a primary role in the asset, operational, property management capital and operating asset maintenance budgets for eleven PGNFC buildings, fleet, vehicle leases, one camp and parking lot. You will ensure that short and long-term planning decisions are cost efficient, economically, environmentally and socially/operationally sustainable. Other areas of responsibilities include facilities security and phone systems, and the insurance and risk management of all PGNFC operations services and programs. This role supervises the custodial maintenance team.

The preferred qualifications for this role include:

  1. A Minimum of a Degree in Facility Management or related Degree and/or a Trade Certification or possess an appropriate combination of education and experience directly related to building and asset management.
  2. A minimum of ten (10) years directly related work experience in a large, complex multi-location environment (preferably in a non-profit environment).
  3. A minimum of five (5) years experience working at a management level in a community-based not-for-profit organization.
  4. Extensive demonstrated knowledge of building equipment and systems.
  5. General project management experience in facilities infrastructure and renovation projects.
  6. Considerable knowledge of construction and maintenance trades along with municipal codes.
  7. Knowledge and experience with energy efficiency programs.
  8. Proven experience in proposal writing and writing reports, strategic work plans, goals and objectives.
  9. Superior communication skills including presentation skills, writing ability, and computer proficiency.
  10. Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills.
  11. Complete Criminal Record Clearances and possess a valid Driver's License.
  12. Be willing to work flexible hours including on call, evenings & weekends.
