Reporting to the Regional Director, Medical Affairs, the Director, Medical Staff Contracts & Negotiations (the Director) is responsible for providing leadership and subject area expertise to achieve effective and sustainable linkages between Medical Staff compensation models and established clinical service delivery models. The Director leads the development and negotiation of Medical Staff compensation models to support clinical service delivery goals, provides input on strategic directions regarding Medical Staff compensation models, facilitate consensus with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, and implements and monitors Medical Staff compensation models that align with both provincial and organizational priorities. Leading and directing a negotiating and contract management team, the Director assesses and identifies critical issues with Medical Staff compensation and collaborates with other regional Northern Health (NH) portfolios, the Ministry of Health (MoH), Health Employers Association of BC (HEABC) Physician Services and, and the Doctors of BC to ensure the seamless integration of Medical Staff compensation with established Medical Staff initiatives and governance models. Central to the success of this position is the ability to understand and execute new Medical Staff compensation strategies developed by senior NH or MOH leaders that consolidate MoH and NH strategic plans; service objectives; existing or new regulatory/policy requirements; evidence-based practice; and emerging best practices into viable Medical Staff service and compensation models for medical programs within NH that will enable the delivery of the expected clinical service delivery models.

Starting salary will be approximately from $113,195 to $141,494 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualfications
• Master's Degree in a related discipline such as Health Care or Business Administration plus five to seven (5-7) years related experience in a senior position in a large and complex health care setting including a minimum of 5 years' experience developing, negotiating, and managing high level contracts with multiple and diverse parties.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• In-depth knowledge and understanding of systems thinking.

• Proficiency in the use of office software applications as effective tools in the role of a senior manager.

• Exceptional relationship-building and consensus-making skills to solve complex issues.

• Knowledge of Medical Staff compensation payment model options, available provincial funding sources and competitive process, and PMA contract language a considerable asset.
