ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Foremost has an opening for an Electrical Engineer, based out of our design/manufacturing facility in Calgary, Alberta. As a talented member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for overcoming challenging design projects that result in best-in-class products, destined for some of the harshest operating conditions on earth.

Accountabilities:
  1. Develop low and high voltage electrical and PLC/HMI designs
  2. Create/Review/Approve electrical documents (such as specifications, calculations, datasheets, schematics) that satisfy compliance and performance requirements
  3. Manage engineering documentation using sound project principles
  4. Specify components
  5. Provide support to quality, sales, production, publications, part sales, and field service
  6. Troubleshooting and Commissioning as required
  7. Project scheduling and estimating as required
  8. Participate in the development of procedures and policy as required
  9. Participate in electrical design reviews, both internal and external
  10. Check work of others for accuracy and compliance
  11. Supervision and Mentoring, as required
  12. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  1. Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in good standing with APEGA
  2. Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  3. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  4. 5-10 years of experience designing both low and high-voltage electrical systems (mobile drilling equipment preferred)
  5. Ability to work effectively in either a team setting or as an individual contributor
  6. Ability to communicate effectively in English with internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
  7. Prior experience with HMI design and Parker IQAN (or equivalent)
  8. Prior experience creating/maintaining electrical schematics in AutoCAD
  9. Prior field experience troubleshooting/commissioning electrical equipment
  10. Ability to travel internationally as required
  11. Expert knowledge of electrical systems, and relevant industry standards
  12. Mechanical design experience is considered an asset
  13. 3D CAD experience is considered an asset
  14. Knowledge of hydraulics is considered an asset
