Job Description: Plant Manager - Industrial Packaging Solutions
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations professional to take on the role as Plant Manager. As a pivotal member of the organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality while driving operational excellence through the implementation of Lean Manufacturing practices. Leveraging your expertise in Six Sigma methodologies and your strong leadership skills, you will lead efforts to optimize production processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall efficiency. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within the organization while contributing to our ongoing success in delivering top-quality products to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Actively engages in the site’s safety and quality management initiatives.
- Evaluates & prepares production, safety, and quality reports, collaborating with team members to develop action plans for issue resolution.
- Implements strategies for enhancing cost efficiency, quality assurance, and production processes.
- Supervises and participates in developmental or experimental projects.
- Solicits employee feedback to address production challenges and enhance efficiencies, utilising problem-solving techniques.
- Collaborates with Planning and Operations teams to review and adjust production schedules as needed, ensuring adequate coverage for staffing requirements.
- Oversees proactive and corrective maintenance practices for production equipment, including scheduling maintenance activities.
- Applies Lean Manufacturing methodologies such as Six Sigma.
- Develops and enforces preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability.
- Ensures comprehensive training for employees on safety, quality, and production protocols.
- Makes decisions regarding operational plans and schedules to achieve objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or operations management, with a preference for a Master's degree.
- 6+ years of experience in operations, maintenance, engineering, or process improvement, including team management responsibilities.
- Prior experience in a Lean manufacturing environment.
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification preferred.
Must be located or willing to relocate to within a commutable distance from Burlington, Ontario, Canada
