XTL Transport Inc. Carrier Logistics Planner

XTL Transport Inc. is looking for a Carrier Logistics Planner at our Toronto Terminal to become part of an excellent team. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is self-motivated, has strong analytical and computer skills, strong attention to detail and is enthusiastic to work in a customer-centric environment.

Responsibilities
  1. Carrier Relations:
    1. Grow & develop our carrier base with partners that meet or exceed our criteria & compliance standards.
    2. Develop an in-depth understanding of partner carrier networks to maximize their effectiveness.
    3. Monitor, measure and provide feedback on carrier performance.
    4. Negotiate transactional and dedicated rates with partner carriers while ensuring corporate margin targets are achieved.
    5. Ensure carrier capacity exceeds customer demands.
  2. Targets:
    1. Conduct at least 2 carrier exploration calls per week.
    2. Develop talking points to assist reps.
    3. Visit or host 2 in-person carrier meetings per month.
  3. Corporate Responsibilities:

    Assist with market rate information, liaise with other team members, and align with corporate strategic objectives.

  4. Measurement Responsibilities:

    Ensure data integrity, verify carrier data, and complete orders accurately.

  5. Other Responsibilities:

    Support team members, verify carrier data, and maintain a positive work culture.

Skills & Abilities

Computer experience required (AS400, Lotus), geographical knowledge of North America, fluent communication skills, negotiating skills, bilingual (English & French) is an asset, 1-2 years industry experience and/or relevant post-secondary education, eager for new challenges, excellent customer service skills, professional demeanor, problem-solving skills, initiative.

Work Environment

Ability to work well under pressure with strong attention to detail, work in a team atmosphere with minimal supervision.
