The Crew Leader sets the example of team leadership within the McCormick High Performance System (MHPS) environment. The Crew Leader ensures overall performance of a team of 3-4 lines, including safety, quality, process reliability, sanitation, GMP's, and material yield.

Description of Position:

  • Leads by example, ensuring Health and Safety as well as Human Resources policy adherence
  • Utilizes the McCormick High Performance System (MHPS) to engage each member of the team
  • Plans, directs, and supports the daily activities of team members
  • Leads Tier 1 HPO activities
  • Removes barriers to team performance
  • Facilitates daily team huddles and weekly team meetings
  • Responsible for ensuring key performance indicators are met
  • Ensures operational procedures are consistently followed
  • Resolves daily issues and minor mechanical problems
  • Provides input to evaluations and development/training plans
  • Contacts HR immediately when an employee is injured
  • Responsible for on-the-job training of new and existing employees
  • Interacts cross-functionally with other areas
  • Leads continuous improvement initiatives
  • May complete other occasional duties as assigned
  • Ability to work overtime (pre or post shift and weekends)

Qualifications:

  • Three years manufacturing/industrial experience or equivalent education
  • Strong mechanical ability and understanding of packaging/processing equipment
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field is an asset
  • Demonstrated practice of leadership principles required
  • Knowledge of packaging/processing equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to operate all equipment in the business
