Our client is searching for a Property Accountant to join their team. This role will be responsible for providing accurate accounting services. A successful candidate will become a key member of the accounting team. This role reports directly to the Accounting Manager.

Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To

  • Complete the day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of multi-tenant properties
  • Assist with regular, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
  • Assist with preparing monthly and quarterly reporting packages for properties, which includes a balance sheet, income statement, supporting schedules, and capital expenditure analysis
  • Provide accounts analysis, prepare variance analysis, maintain accurate and complete records and files, and respond to client enquiries as necessary and on a regular basis
  • Provide support to operations
  • Collaborate on projects to develop and implement new systems, reports, and tools, and tests these tools to identify any issues
  • Develop non-standard reports and statements according to guidelines

Your strengths include:

  • 5+ years of full cycle accounting experience
  • Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Yardi or other property management accounting software is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and operate effectively in a team environment
