Aircraft Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, MOC, Out Station Maintenance and Contract MROs, the AME Apprentice will work in support of Porter’s Dash-8-400 fleet in a line maintenance environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Troubleshoot aircraft structural, mechanical, or hydraulic systems to identify problems and adjust and repair systems according to specifications, technical drawings, manuals, and established procedures
  2. Repair and overhaul aircraft structural, mechanical, or hydraulic systems
  3. Install or modify aircraft engines, mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel, and pneumatic systems
  4. Dismantle airframes, aircraft engines, or other aircraft systems for repair, overhaul, and cleaning, and reassemble
  5. Perform and document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance under the guidance of a Lead ACA, ACA, or AME
  6. Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply, and promote the Company Safety Policy
  7. Assist on the ramp as required

Qualifications
  • Completion of secondary school is required
  • A college diploma in aircraft maintenance from a Transport Canada approved educational facility
  • Valid Ontario full “G” driver’s license (or out of province equivalent)
  • Ability to obtain a Canadian Passport
  • Ability to obtain necessary security clearances
  • Successfully complete the company screening process
