The Opportunity:

WSP is currently seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead our wide range of projects in the mining, industrial, and public sectors. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of technical expertise and a proven track record of successful project delivery. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of various civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client requirements. This role is a hybrid position based in either our Thunder Bay, Saskatoon, or Thornhill offices. We strongly encourage only candidates with specific design experience in Civil Engineering to apply for this position.

What you can expect to do here:

Design Site Plans that encompass site services, grading, earthworks, water distribution, access roads, drainage, and stormwater/wastewater management systems.
Ensure the quality and accuracy of project deliverables, conducting thorough reviews and assessments to meet or exceed industry standards.
Provide construction support and conduct site reviews during construction.
Develop, verify, and finalize technical deliverables including drawings, specifications, reports, and engineering calculations.
Prepare proposals and supporting documents for permitting.
Support project management, ensuring the projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Communicate with clients to establish and maintain business relationships, and contribute to business growth strategies.

What you'll bring to WSP:
  1. B.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering.
  2. A minimum of 10 years of experience in consulting engineering firms, specifically in Civil Design and Site Planning.
  3. In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, codes, and standards.
  4. Professional Engineering Licence in Ontario or one of the provinces.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
  6. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D, Knowledge in Pix4D, and Revit would be an asset.
  7. Great communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Possess a valid G driver's license.
  9. Must be eligible for Enhanced Reliability federal government clearance (individual must have 5 full years of verifiable history in Canada, USA, UK, New Zealand and/or Australia to be eligible).
