Overview

The Sr. ADMS / SCADA Project Manager will be an essential part of our team to grow the consulting practice in the Operational Technology and Real-Time Systems domain.

The Sr. ADMS / SCADA Project Manager should have in-depth industry knowledge with all Information Technologies and Operation Technologies related to the electric grid, SCADA, EMS, DMS, GIS.

Working closely with TRC Clients, Client’s Vendors, and Client’s and TRC’s project personnel, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the proper implementation and delivery of new technologies within TRC Client’s environment.

You will have responsibility for all aspects of the project over the entire project lifecycle including responsibility for assembling and managing project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of the project. In addition, you must exercise/demonstrate judgement, leadership, organization, and communication skills.


Responsibilities

  • Deliver this project to completion. You own the scope, cost, schedule, and risks for the project. You will manage multiple tracks, business and technical resources, consultants and vendors contracted to deliver solutions.
  • You act as a champion to foster a positive project work environment; and successfully lead the team to accomplish all the project objectives on time and on budget.
  • You will lead the entire project team, you will be ultimately responsible for assigning work, holding stakeholders accountable, measuring the team’s outputs, and managing the performance of the individuals in the project team.
  • Acting as a consultant in a PM role for TRC’s Clients, you will be TRC’s representative, ensuring that the Client and TRCs interests are well aligned for the success of the project.
  • You will adopt the Client’s PMO framework to manage your project but can leverage the TRC PMO framework to cover any gap in the Client’s PMO framework to make the project successful.
  • You will develop the workflow plans to manage the project from initial request through systems analysis, technical design, implementation, procurement, testing, turnover to production and client migration.
  • You will plan, prepare, and track project schedules and budgets to assure controlled completion of each project step.
  • You will prepare and maintain a risk assessment and mitigation action plan.
  • You will develop the necessary metrics to track to progress of the activities and deliverables.
  • You will deploy and maintain Earned Value Management
  • You will maintain forecasts to assure that schedule compliance and desired results are achieved.
  • You will adopt the Client’s governance and report on project status at Client’s executive level through executive steering committees.
  • Ability to travel to client location(s) as project or client requires.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of Project Management experience in the utility domain
  • Previous experience leading and managing large-scale, multifaceted enterprise-wide Operational Technologies Projectsin an electric utility environment.
  • The successful candidate will be fully knowledgeable and proficient in all aspects of the project management Body of Knowledge
  • Ability to navigate in complex organization and influence key decision makers.
  • Excellent organizational, decision making and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills ranging from addressing C-Level to multiple technical teams.
  • Ability to self-direct and work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent team building and motivational skills.
  • Excellent budgeting and financial skills
  • Proficiency with MS-Project and with MS Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Must have strong judgement, leadership, organization, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience implementing large SCADA programs
  • PMP Certification
