Duncan, Canada Affinity Group Full time

On behalf of our client providing software solutions for Health and Social Impact, Affinity is currently in search of a Contract Full Stack React Developer to join their team on a long term project building out a digital platform as they adopt cloud technology and move towards a DevOps environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Development of enterprise scale web applications using Java and React frameworks.
  2. Develop front end web User Interfaces as outlined in the User Experience design standards and related mockups.
  3. Perform impact analysis, design and develop enhancements, bug fixes and other software releases.
  4. Work closely with business, partner, and technical representatives to ensure technical designs and software satisfy customer and non-functional requirements, including integrations with other systems.
  5. Work closely with the Product Owner and Solution Architect to understand and correctly interpret user stories and requirements.
  6. Work with the Solution Architect to complete analysis and design of enterprise scale web applications.
  7. Contribute to identification of solution options to meet requirements and when required research and evaluate alternative approaches / solutions and make recommendations.
  8. Contribute to project, test, and deployment planning.
  9. Write robust, well-structured, well commented, maintainable, efficient, unit tested code.
  10. Review application code and provide feedback as necessary to the development team.
  11. Raise relevant technical risks and issues.
  12. Assist the Solution Architect to manage tasks for the development team.
  13. Help lead and instill Agile methodologies across the team.
  14. Participate in daily scrums and peer code reviews.
  15. Actively contribute to Sprint Planning and Reviews.
  16. Help groom user stories.
  17. Bring agile software development best practices to the team and coach peer developers on their application.
  18. Support and help the team mature its Agile and DevOps processes by contributing to and implementing best practice development processes such as CI / CD.

Qualifications:

  1. 8+ years of experience in responsive Front End UI frameworks and libraries such as ReactJS, in HTML5 (and latest evolution of CSS/SASS) and in REST service-oriented architectures.
  2. 8+ years of experience in full-stack, enterprise level application development, focused on Front End and Back End design, development, testing and implementation.
  3. 8+ years of experience in Single Page Application (SPA) development using React libraries and concepts.
  4. Strong experience developing concurrent, parallel, and distributed cloud-based software solutions.
  5. Experience in UI libraries such as Material UI and Bootstrap and with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle.
  6. Highly proficient in normalized relational database design.
  7. Demonstrated experience:
  8. with Agile Scrum methodology, story point estimation and Agile task management tools such as Jira;
  9. with test driven development methods;
  10. with software testing frameworks (unit, on-regression, user acceptance);
  11. meeting quoted time estimates to develop, test and implement software;
  12. with build automation tools such as Gradle or Maven;
  13. Git Source Version Control;
  14. developing secure code following OWASP best practices;
  15. developing and/or consuming REST API / services; and
  16. with Java performance analysis and tuning.

Pay rate for this position is between $70-90/hr depending on skillset and fit.
