One of our clients in Cambridge, ON is looking for a Tool and Die Apprentice for their service.

Shift: 2weeks days / 1 week afternoon and 1-week nights

Responsibilities

  • The candidate should be able to perform all duties of a Tool & Die apprentice, as set by the Provincial Government (430A).
  • The candidate shall be able to assist Tool Makers and other skilled trades to perform the work required.
  • Should be able to handle forklift to move dies back & forth from die storage to Toolroom.
  • The candidate shall be able to interpret and use Micrometers, Vernier's, Height Gauges etc.
  • Should perform any other related duties that may be specifically or generally assigned.
  • The candidate should work in accordance with apprenticeship guidelines in the Collective Agreement with AGS.

Qualifications

  • The candidate shall hold grade 12 education or equivalent or combination training/experience/Aptitude Test required.
  • The candidate must complete the Certificate of Qualifications within 5 years of being awarded the posting.

Skills

  • The candidate must have working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Must be knowledgeable with operation and use of machine tools, Lathes, Mills, Surface grinders and Bench Tools etc.
  • The candidate should be able to perform MIG/TIG.
