The Department of Medicine and the Division of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Ottawa and the Ottawa Hospital is looking for an Academic Geriatrician.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform clinical services, teach and supervise medical students and residents
  • Participate in medical research
  • Clinical activities include inpatient Geriatric Medicine Unit, consultation teams, and specialized ambulatory clinics
  • Lead community-based assessments of older adults
  • Offer services in French at the Montfort Hospital
  • Memory Disorders program at the Elisabeth Bruyère Hospital
  • Engage in various research activities including clinical, health services delivery, and medical education

Qualifications:

  • Specialist in Geriatric Medicine
  • Eligible for medical practice in Ontario
  • Member or eligible for membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association
  • Certification in Geriatric Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
  • Eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Ottawa
  • Bilingual (French/English) candidates preferred

The income for this position includes clinical billings, salary support, and honorariums. Health and welfare benefits are provided.
